KEEP IT BEACHY
How College Student Hanna Davis Turns Old Surfboards into Coastal Art

Between hospitality classes and study breaks, 22-year-old Hanna Davis is growing a breezy little side hustle one surfboard at a time. Her brand, Keep It Beachy, blends creativity, coastal charm, and a love for all things sun and saltwater, turning old boards into relaxed, beachy pieces that feel like summer year-round.
It all started after Hanna’s family relocated to Anastasia Island in 2020, during COVID. Looking to decorate her new room with a laid-back, coastal look, she came across Pinterest posts of painted surfboards used as wall art. She decided to give it a try, and instantly fell in love with the process.
After her first board hung in her room for a few months, she posted it on Facebook Marketplace on a whim. It sold within hours. That’s when Hanna realized she was onto something.
Now, she scours surf shops, beaches, and garage sales for old boards—giving them new life with soft coastal tones, palm leaves and ocean hues, and the occasional phrase that captures the easygoing beach vibe.
“Hanna’s creativity and love for the ocean naturally came together when she started painting surfboards just for fun,” her parents Lena and Ricky Davis say. “What began as a passion project has turned into a business venture she truly loves—and we couldn’t be more proud.”
Though she didn’t grow up here full-time, Hanna’s connection to the island runs deep.
“I grew up vacationing here, so Anastasia Island has always felt like my happy place,” she says. “Now I actually get to live here, and that’s pretty special.”
Her art and blog capture the relaxed spirit of island life. Locals love her custom commissions for homes, events, and small businesses looking to bring a little beach inside.
