Cornerstone Dental Lounge: Where Technology Meets Heart in Battle Ground
Bringing back the personal touch
Morgan, Juliet, and Jeremy.
Going to the dentist doesn’t usually land on one’s list of things they love doing. Dr. Jeremy Martens is a notable exception, explaining that his positive childhood experience with the dentist is what set in motion his love for the industry and his desire to become a dentist himself.
He aims to create a wonderful experience for his patients, just like he had.
Fast forward a few decades, and Cornerstone Dental Lounge is the realization of that dream. It’s a family-based practice that focuses on excellence in patient experience, great communication, and excellent outcomes with the best care possible.
For Dr. Martens and his wife, Morgan, it’s not just a slogan. They thoughtfully chose their wedding colors of green, black and gold as the company colors—not just for sentimental reasons, but for the soothing effect it has on patients.
The term “dental lounge” also stems from their desire to create a fun, relaxing experience.
The backstory
Jeremy grew up in a Catholic homeschool family with 12 other siblings! Family time and working together were formative to his upbringing. After high school, Jeremy spent two years doing volunteer missionary work in Atlanta, Georgia, focusing on youth ministry and mission trips. That experience instilled in him a commitment to service that carried through his education at Benedictine College in Kansas, where he earned his biochemistry degree, and later at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2022.
Considering that his third year in dental school clinicals was during 2020 (COVID), Jeremy made it a priority to help fellow dental students in an environment where clinical hours were being cut due to COVID restrictions. If he wasn’t seeing a patient himself, he was helping fellow students.
Rebuilding the passion
After entering the dentistry world, Jeremy found his passion for the industry waning due to the red tape and impersonal treatment that prevails. “I don’t want to hear ‘Your root canal is waiting in room 3,’” Jeremy adds. “It’s a person we’re talking about, not just a procedure. What’s their name?”
Creating his own practice has given him the flexibility to create the experience he thinks all patients should have.
But what sets Cornerstone Dental Lounge apart isn't just Jeremy's approach to patient care—it's also the advanced technology he brings to every appointment. The practice captures a CBCT (3D scan) on every patient, providing detailed images of facial and jawbone structures to identify hidden issues or possible infections that traditional X-rays might miss. "We want to provide the best care possible by seeing everything clearly," Jeremy notes.
Cornerstone provides all basic dental services, but his passion lies in oral surgery, implants, extractions, and root canals.
The clinic takes most insurance providers, but he loves consulting patients on the options that are best for them, which are often contrary to what insurance requires. For those paying in cash, he offers payment plans as needed.
Get to know the Martens family (and a touching fact)
Jeremy and Morgan were married in 2022 and welcomed their adorable daughter, Juliet, in 2023. They enjoy spending time together as a family above all else.
Jeremy shares a meaningful tidbit as we close our interview. He chose his dad as the best man in his wedding. That turned out to be the last wedding his dad would attend, as pancreatic cancer claimed his life in 2024, as Jeremy was beginning to build out the dental lounge space.
His dad gifted him a brand-new printer just before his passing, because he knew he wouldn’t be able to use it. It now serves as the office printer, a sentimental reminder of the man who shaped Jeremy and his love for serving others.
