Change is Here
What does it mean to a seller? A buyer? Me?
You have probably heard that there are changes to how buyer-agents are compensated.
There is some confusion about what, exactly, will happen. As an Advisor with Four Seasons
Sotheby’s International Realty, I am wholeheartedly dedicated to my clients. We have been
working on these changes for almost a year. Here is some information for Buyers and Sellers about these changes and how we are responding.
CHANGES FOR BUYERS
The most important change is that Buyer agents cannot show a property without a contract with
a buyer. If you are not represented by a buyer agent, you are considered an “unrepresented
buyer” and do not have the benefit of an advisor working for you.
CHANGES FOR SELLERS
Does this mean that you don’t need to pay a buyer's agent? There is more to it than that. You
are going to work with an offer that nets you the most money, whether or not that includes compensation.
There is a lot of misunderstanding out there. We pride ourselves on exceptional client service and are happy to answer any questions you have. Call or email our office and let us help.
