Festival of Trees and Christmas Market

With the Bedford Women's Club

Based on the massive success of last year’s event, the Bedford Women’s Club will host its second annual Festival of Trees at Town Hall on December 1-2. New this year is a Christmas Market featuring local vendors with assorted wares. Admission is free, with hours of 4-7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. With an opportunity to have fun while getting some holiday shopping and decorating accomplished, this event can’t be missed!

Themed trees will be decorated by club members, interest groups, local businesses, sponsors, and other organizations. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets to win these enchanting trees. You need not be present to win — the event organizers will call winners as tickets are pulled on Saturday afternoon, and items must be retrieved by 5 p.m.

Last year, the most popular tree was named A Very Merry Christmas, and its branches held over $200 in desirable gift cards. This lovely three-foot tree had an assortment of decorations and was small enough to fit in a corner or table of any room. The trees come in a variety of sizes ranging from tabletop to five feet tall. Other popular themes included Lindt chocolates, lottery tickets, Pokémon, Victorian ornaments, and handmade knit/crocheted decorations. Barbie and Dog Owner’s Delight are among the new themes already planned for 2023.

Local ensembles will perform throughout the festival, and refreshments will be sold. There will be free holiday crafts for children, as well as a chance to visit Santa and take pictures with him (also free).

This is a festive event to kick off the holiday season for the whole community and fun for all. Beautiful trees to see, music to hear, and an atmosphere of holiday fun. Visitors might even find the perfect wreath, gift, or stocking stuffer. Net proceeds will benefit local scholarships and charitable donations.

Established in 1905, the Bedford Women’s Club provides an opportunity for Bedford women to meet socially and pursue many interests. Besides the general monthly membership meetings that usually feature a guest speaker, the club offers over 20 interest groups, including book club, Scrabble, bridge, mah jongg, hiking, snowshoeing, knitting and crocheting, genealogy, and couple’s brunch. At each of its monthly luncheon meetings, club members contribute items to help fulfill wish lists for local charities, and the club holds several annual fundraisers, such as the Festival of Trees and the Time and Talent Auction, to support its scholarships and charitable donations.
