Exciting Times and New Owner
I am originally from Flint, Michigan, and moved to Bedford in 2006 for my husband’s job. We’ve been here for 17 years, and I feel incredibly lucky to call this town my home. We have three grown children who all went through the Bedford school system, and we have always felt safe and welcomed here. Bedford is a wonderful place to raise a family, work, and enjoy life.
I received my business degree from the University of Michigan, met my husband, had three beautiful children, and traveled the world for my husband’s job. Prior to moving to Bedford, I was a stay-at-home Mom in Seattle, New York, DC, and London. After moving to Bedford, I felt ready to take on my next adventure. In 2011, I purchased New Morning Schools, located at 23 Back River Road. New Morning Schools offers a variety of programming for children ages 3-12, including before and after school programs, Preschool and Kindergarten, and camp programming during most school vacation weeks. New Morning Schools was and is the natural fit for me. I love being around children; I love their enthusiasm and joy, and I love seeing the magic that happens in the classroom. After purchasing New Morning Schools and seeing the impact this institution makes in the community, it ignited my desire to find other ways to bring people together and support the community.
When the Bedford Event Center building was for sale, I saw my next opportunity to contribute to the Bedford community. Family and celebrations are what it’s all about. Providing an attractive and welcoming environment for people to come together, celebrate, and connect is something I feel passionate about.
I acquired the event center in January, and our new team hit the ground running. The Bedford Event Center is an all-season event space located at 379 South River Road. Our space is 7,500 square feet, has complete ADA accessibility, full audio/visual capability, and a 286-guest capacity. We host social events, corporate meetings, weddings, receptions, celebrations of life, award ceremonies, and political events.
Our staff is made up of some incredible local professionals. Our clients can choose their own caterers and other service providers or select from our preferred vendor list to custom-design their special event. The team creates custom layouts based on what the client envisions and guides them through various other decisions that go into hosting a successful event, such as linens, centerpieces, lighting, and beverage services. Our staff do an amazing job of making each client’s vision a reality.

They’ve connected me with other business owners as well as local professionals who have helped me expand and grow my businesses.
