'64 Stingray

This is a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. I’ve owned it for 58 years, except for the three years it was stolen and gone!

I drove it 155,000 miles back and forth across the country between various USAF bases I was assigned to before it was stolen. This included pulling a boat on a trailer—hey, I was young and foolish. After recovering the stolen beauty, I spent ten years and oodles of money restoring it with a full frame-off restoration. Now, it gets driven about 100 miles a year, mostly by my son, the new legal owner.

I also have the soft and hard tops that go with it. Two of my friends have red and white Corvettes, so we get asked to participate in red, white, and blue parades now and then.

Without a doubt, this car and I grew up together.
