Bozeman High’s Kash Embry

A Star Athlete and Student Ready for the Next Chapter

Kash Embry, a senior at Bozeman High School in the class of 2025, is taking his talent to the next level. Recently, Kash received a Preferred Walk-On (PWO) offer from Montana State University, where he will continue his academic and athletic journey as a wide receiver for the Bobcats. Known for his impressive versatility and leadership, Kash has made a name for himself as an accomplished two-sport athlete and a dedicated student.

In football, Kash has been a standout on the Bozeman Varsity team, where he wears #3 and serves as a captain. This past season, he played quarterback but also shone as a wide receiver. As a junior, he contributed to Bozeman’s perfect 12-0 season, culminating in a state championship win over Kalispell Glacier. This victory marked Bozeman's seventh state championship and the program’s fifth since 2010, an especially significant feat following the split with Gallatin High in 2020 and two years of promising playoff berths but disappointing exists. 2023, however, brought euphoria and victory.

Beyond football, Kash also excels on the basketball court. For the past two years, he’s been a key player for the Bozeman Varsity Basketball team, donning #3 and playing point guard and shooting guard. This year, he returns with the same drive to contribute to his team’s success.

Growing up, Kash was inspired to pursue basketball by his dad and older sister, while his mother and grandfather, Tom Kostrba of the 1976 MSU Bobcats, encouraged his love for football. His dedication to both sports has been a lifelong journey, and his family’s influence has helped shape his passion and work ethic.

Academically, Kash’s achievements are just as impressive. He's a true example of balance and discipline, with a 4.0 GPA and Academic All-State honors in basketball and football. Managing rigorous academics alongside the demands of high school sports isn’t easy, but Kash credits his friends and teammates with making the journey enjoyable. “It’s hard, but commitments to sports are easy and fun when you’re doing it with your best friends every day,” he says. He’s learned the importance of leadership, accountability, and asking for help when needed.

Looking ahead, Kash has ambitious goals. He plans to major in civil engineering and aims to make an impact academically and professionally. On the field, he’s eager to prove himself as a wide receiver for the Bobcats and hopes to leave a legacy at MSU.

He shares a message of perseverance for younger athletes: “Work hard and stay consistent. It’s not always about being the most athletic; it’s about who wants it the most.”

For Kash, winning the state championship alongside his best friends is his favorite sports memory, a testament to his dedication and the bonds he’s formed. As he prepares for this next chapter, there’s no doubt he’ll bring the same passion, commitment, and drive that have already made him one of Bozeman High’s brightest stars.
