Greet Bozeman: Please tell our Greet Bozeman community more about yourselves.

MS: I grew up in Minnesota, where I developed a passion for automobiles at a young age. After four years mastering the detailing trade, I realized I had the skills and vision to open my own business. Traditional schooling wasn’t the right fit for me, so I ventured into entrepreneurship. Growing up with two older brothers and a younger sister and brother, I learned the value of hard work and determination from a young age. My family has always been supportive, encouraging my love for automobiles.  

CG: I was raised in Rochester, N.Y., as an only child, but I was surrounded by a large extended family that played a significant role in my upbringing. My grandparents taught me essential life skills—everything from cooking and cleaning to the importance of kindness and respect for others. I recently decided to call Bozeman home, and I’m thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my life here. My educational journey took me through both public and Catholic schools, and I pursued further education at St. John Fisher College for Business. I also studied at the State University of New York at Geneseo for Paramedic training and completing the Fire Academy in N.Y. and the Police Academy in N.C. Each experience has shaped my work ethic and commitment to community service.

 

GB: What inspired you to start your business? What is the vision and mission behind The Detail Doctor?

MS: I have spent over six years honing and mastering my craft in the auto detailing industry and as a professional leather cleaner and repair specialist. I have also earned a certification from ZEP Brand Products. I started my business to create a company that prioritizes work-life balance and family. I wanted to foster a work environment that respects and values everyone involved, offering flexible schedules to accommodate personal lifestyles and hobbies. This approach helps our team love what they do rather than feel burdened by it. Meeting Chris, who shares this vision and brings expertise in steam cleaning, has been a game changer for The Detail Doctor. Our goal is to prioritize the health of our clients and the environment by ensuring that they’re not exposed to harmful chemicals. It’s incredibly rewarding to return a car to its owner looking brand new, knowing it’s safe for their family.

CG: I launched my first steam cleaning business, Flawless Steam, in Charlotte, N.C., in 2014, servicing a 45-mile area for individuals and car dealerships, boats (either docked at the residents’ home or in their slip at the marina), country clubs (including members’ vehicles, golf carts, and banquet furniture), and private jets for individuals and NASCAR. Three years later, I opened a second location in Rochester, N.Y., after a fire chief asked me to help remove carcinogens from firetrucks. My N.Y. location serviced fire departments, ambulance corps, individual vehicles, boats, and private jets. My mission at Flawless Steam was to inspire and educate clients on the healthiest cleaning methods for a better quality of life. I was inspired by witnessing medical equipment cleaned with steam while working as a paramedic, realizing it was the ideal cleaning solution. Now, I am thrilled to bring this same passion for health and innovative services to Bozeman and Big Sky residents, promoting a healthier lifestyle for everyone!
