Meet Tristan Peters, a remarkable 15-year-old ninth grader who is immersed in the world of wrestling. Originally from Skiatook, Tristan moved to the area just over three years ago. After some encouragement from his uncle, he decided to join the Claremore Wrestling team. “Wrestling is my passion and my favorite sport,” he shares enthusiastically.

After diving into the sport, Tristan became a member of the Claremore Wrestling Club, where he found inspiration in his coaches: Calib Freeman, Dillion and Michael Williams, Zac Webber, and Chad Willard. “Coach Calib and Coach Michael are both state champions, and they inspire me to reach that goal myself,” Tristan shares.

Tristan credits his parents as another significant source of motivation. “They give me the tools and opportunities I need to reach my goals,” he says gratefully. His hard work is already paying off, as he achieved the 2023 OKUSA Open State Championship and earned Adidas All-American status back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.

Wrestling has proven to be both mentally and physically challenging for Tristan. He recalls wanting to quit after his first year due to the many obstacles he faced. Looking back, he is thankful he persevered. “I encourage others to stick with it, even when it gets tough,” he advises.

With four years left in the Claremore Wrestling Program, Tristan is determined to make a significant impact. He dreams of attending college for wrestling and hopes to one day open a wrestling club in Claremore to support young, aspiring wrestlers. Tristan Peters is not only achieving personal success but is also paving the way for future generations in the sport.
