Tyson Grimett, a senior at Claremore High School, has spent all 17 years of his life in the Claremore community. One of the things Tyson values most about his hometown is the active involvement of students, parents, staff, and community members with the local schools. During his time at Claremore High School, Tyson became deeply involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), an organization that demonstrates how faith and sports can coexist harmoniously. Tyson believes that having a relationship with God is crucial, stating, “I think having a relationship with God is the most important thing to have.”

Looking ahead to his graduation in 2025, Tyson aspires to play college football. He credits his father and older brothers, all of whom were college athletes, as major role models. “They have taught me a lot and shaped my life,” Tyson says.

Throughout his high school career, Tyson has faced challenges, including injuries from football games. Despite these setbacks, he has learned the importance of giving everything his best effort, as he notes, “What I’ve learned is that you have to face everything you do with 100% of what you’ve got because you never know when it’s going to be your last time.”

Tyson’s dedication to football has earned him recognition as a Top 100 Player by Vype Oklahoma Football Magazine. Beyond his athletic achievements, Tyson aims to make a positive impact on his community. He hopes to “show the world that no matter what you look like or feel like, we are all the same and should be treated as such.”

For aspiring high school athletes, Tyson’s advice is simple yet profound: “Work towards your goals and just be yourself.” Tyson is set to graduate from Claremore High School in May 2025, eager to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
