Building Dreams One Home At A Time

This recently completed home sits on a double corner lot surrounded by rustic landscaping with native plants and sandy pathways. Designed by the architects at LPA Inc., the award-winning residence prioritizes sustainability, energy efficiency, and multi-generational living.

The home’s footprint includes a self-contained one-bedroom Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that encourages interaction between grandparents, parents, and grandchildren—while maintaining privacy for all.

Gray ribbed metal siding on the upper levels is color-matched with the metal roofing, creating a bold contrast with the white plaster finish of the lower level. Window eyebrows, sun shade sails, canopies, and perforated metal screens are strategically positioned to optimize natural light and shade in both the interior and exterior spaces of the home.

A walled courtyard, accessible via expansive collapsible glass doors and an exterior staircase, creates an indoor-outdoor connection, allowing the family to fully enjoy the Southern California climate year-round.

Upstairs, a library and office open onto a spacious patio with lounge seating and a mini golf putting green. This area connects directly to the one-bedroom ADU, which also opens onto a second deck featuring an outdoor kitchen and gas fire pit—accessible from the ADU’s living room and the communal courtyard.

The sandy main entrance pathway doubles as a bocce ball court, offering another unique and playful outdoor feature the whole family can enjoy.

Notably, this is the first ADU development in Newport Beach that can be reconfigured from a multi-generational setup into a three-unit multifamily residence, offering long-term flexibility for future ownership and evolving family needs.

The home’s design won awards from the Committee on the Environment (COTE) and the American Institute of Architects Orange County Chapter (AIAOC).
