The Fair Oaks Ranch Homeowners’ Association held its 3rd Annual Custom Car Show for its membership on a warm & sunny Sunday afternoon, October 6th, at Boots Gaubatz Park in Deer Meadow Estates. Besides fantastic cars from many eras, the Show included live music compliments of Cross Hill Junction, food trucks, an aerial fire truck from the Leon Springs FD, and a Music/Classic Car Trivia Contest.
A total of 32 custom cars & their owners competed and six “Best in Show” winners were decided by over 250 ballots that were cast by car show aficionados. Trophies were awarded to the top six and as well as a special Fireman’s Choice Award. The winners and their vehicles (dominated by Chevy) included, in alphabetical order:
John Dewey – 1933 Roadster
Dante Liberatore – 1960 Chevrolet Corvette
Michael Sauder – 1962 Chevrolet Corvette
Steve Strasevicz – 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
James Wade – 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider
Travis Willingham – 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Truck
Steve Strasevicz’s Chevelle also captured the Fireman’s Choice Award. In the Music Trivia Contest, Ron Hubbard took 1st place honors, Garry Manitzas 2nd, and J. G. Schroeder 3rd. The three tied with 9 out of 10 correct answers, so a tiebreaker was used to determine the order of finish. Each received gift certificates from Chick-fil-A in Leon Springs!
