Meet The Mangus Family

Matthew Mangus, his wife Mallory, and 4-month-old Walker have lived in Fair Oaks since November of 2023, returning to Matthew’s hometown. Tony Mangus, a long-time realtor in FOR (and also Matthew's Dad) helped them find their home when they were ready to move closer to family and raise their children where Matthew grew up. Mallory was born and raised in Lubbock, TX, while Matthew was born and raised in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX. Matthew's family has lived here since 1999.

Mallory and Matthew met in college at Texas Tech University. Mallory works at Hargrove Roofing and Construction as their Head of Recruiting and HR. Hargrove Roofing and Construction is a nationwide "Top 100" Commercial and Residential roofing company that services the Texas Hill Country.

Matthew works in medical device sales across the San Antonio market. He also owns a consulting business that works with Canyon Crest Land, specializing in Land Acquisition, Title Curative, Right of Way and development services.

Walker is a 4 month old that loves to play outside on his swing, give anyone and everyone a smile, and cuddle with his mom and dad. Walker is named after his dad Matthew Anthony, and his Grandpa Anthony (Tony) Mangus. Walker attends Fair Oaks Baptist Church a couple days a week where he has made many new friends. He also enjoys watching his dad hit balls on the driving range at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club.

Mallory and Matthew both attended Texas Tech University. Mallory has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Communications. While she was in college she was involved in the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Matthew graduated from the Rawls College of Business with his bachelor's degree in business administration.

The Mangus family has 3 pets: 2 cats, Bella and Ellie, who have been in the family since Matthew and Mallory were in college, and Millie, a golden retriever, who was added to the family 2 years ago. They all love playing chase together throughout the house. Millie loves playing ball and going on walks. Her favorite vacation spot is Port Aransas, Texas.

In his free time Matthew enjoys playing golf with his dad or spending time with his son Walker and his wife Mallory. Being a mom is Mallory’s favorite title! She enjoys raising her son Walker, watching him learn and grow with her husband Matthew. In her spare time, she likes travelling to new places, working out, cooking, and happy hour with her friends and family.

When it comes to holidays, Thanksgiving is a big day in the Mangus family. Their tradition is to gather the night before Thanksgiving for Lasagna Wednesday- made by Kim Mangus, Matthew's mom - which allows the family to celebrate the arrival of Mallory's family, cousins on both sides, and grandparents from all over Texas. This is when the Thanksgiving disco ball comes out. As for Thanksgiving itself, they all bring a favorite dish from childhood. Matthew is in charge of smoking the Turkey and Mallory brings her West Texas twist with Green Chile Cheese Grits. This is followed by the Friday after Thanksgiving, or “deer meat Friday”, where the deer from hunting season is served “chicken fried” with gravy. Following dinner, they head to Dickens on Main. This year’s holiday season is extra special, as it will be Walker’s first Halloween and Christmas.

Mallory and Matthew have several favorite local spots: Papa Nachos-their fajitas are amazing; Spotted Deer Coffee - Sunday morning golf cart ride with the family before church; Country Club- pool, food, golf, and drinks; and La Calabria- Italian food and live music.

The Mangus family loves living in Fair Oaks Ranch; “We love how welcoming and friendly everyone is. We have been blessed to have great neighbors. Our favorite family memory is going to the country club for the fireworks show on July 4th and meeting up with a bunch of friends and family to enjoy the show. We are also very excited to see Walker grow up in the same place Matthew did. Matthew has so many great memories growing up here, like riding bikes as a child with friends that he still consistently sees to this day.”
