Isabella Sauder is a budding entrepreneur with a heart of gold and a love for animals, which led to a bracelet making enterprise to raise money for Kerrville Pets Alive after the July 4th floods. Isabella designed, crocheted, and sold bracelets complete with a Texas charm, with all proceeds going to the animal rescue. 

Isabella explained, “this summer, I began teaching myself how to crochet. I first learned to make coasters, garlands, and stuffed animals. Then I started making this style of bracelet”. She began by using green to support Hill Country Strong, then expanded to other colors as well. Isabella added, “I had a lot of fun designing the Texas charm. I used a software program to design and cut it out using my laser in our shop at home.” Isabella explained that each bracelet takes as little as 5 minutes to make.

Isabella lives in Fair Oaks with her parents, brother, and her dog Loki, and is a 5th grader at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary. They’ve been residents of Fair Oaks for 6 years. When asked what she likes to do for fun, Isabella replied, “I love traveling and camping with my family. When at home, I enjoy playing with my neighbors, swimming, and going for bike rides. I play tennis, and I love running.” 

As for where they are sold, Isabella explained, “I had my first stand in our neighborhood and recently set up at the park. I found a great partner in Parker’s Ice Cream and had a great fundraising event where Parker’s gave a free scoop to all donations over $5.” Isabella created an Instagram post promoting her event with Parker’s; she and her mom said the event was very successful and a lot of fun.  

Isabella is grateful for those who have supported her efforts, saying “I’m so thankful for everyone who has purchased a bracelet to help my cause. I hope I brought a little joy to both the recipient of the bracelet and those who benefit from the wonderful efforts of Kerrville Pets Alive.”  

Isabella isn’t sure what her future holds but given her drive and spirit she is sure to be a success in whatever she decides to pursue.
