Cibolo Creek Dermatology Group was founded with a commitment to providing exceptional dermatology care to patients of all ages throughout Boerne, San Antonio, and the Texas Hill Country. The practice’s mission is to deliver personalized skin solutions and cosmetic aesthetics with a focus on trust, transparency, and long-term relationships. 

Dr. Monica McCrary, the practice’s founder, is a board-certified dermatologist. Her vision was to create a practice that prioritizes patient experience and offers top quality skin care treatments in a welcoming and compassionate environment. 

The recent addition of Dr. Shannan McCann expands the practice’s reach by bringing pediatric dermatology expertise to the team, allowing Cibolo Creek Dermatology Group to offer comprehensive care to even the youngest patients. Dr. Shannan E. McCann is a quadruple board-certified physician in Dermatology, with the same training as all dermatologists, but has additional board certification in Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. 

Much of her training was accomplished through the Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio. She completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Texas Children’s Hospital through Baylor College of Medicine, becoming the first-ever Pediatric Dermatologist in the U.S. Air Force. Dr. McCann served in the military for over two decades, consulting on pediatric dermatology cases worldwide and advising the Air Force, Army, and Navy dermatology consultants to the U.S. Surgeon Generals. She retired from the military in 2023 and joined Cibolo Creek Dermatology Group. 

Dr. McCann has been happily married for over 25 years and has two children. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending church, traveling, and gardening.

Dr. McCann, who has led humanitarian missions in Vietnam, Honduras, and Moldova, brings her passion for service to the practice. She is also involved in volunteering at a free medical student run dermatology clinic, mentoring future medical professionals, and promoting skin health awareness. In recognition of her dedication to service, the American Academy of Dermatology presented Dr. McCann with the “Members Making a Difference Award” in 2025—a testament to her impact on both her patients and the dermatology community.
