Team Spirit On and Off the Mat

Sophie Smith and Kenzie Gee share a smile during cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge. The pair enjoyed being each other's "Big" and "Little" in the Skyview Cheer program.

Senior Sophie Smith is a dedicated student leader whose passion for teamwork extends far beyond the sidelines. As co-captain of Skyview Varsity Cheer, Sophie is also involved in National Honor Society and Medical Club, serves as Treasurer of Key Club, coordinates Mr. and Ms. Skyview, and is a member of the Senior Class Council.
Although she has been cheering for two years and is preparing for her third season, Sophie brings a decade of dance experience that has helped shape her athleticism and performance skills. Her favorite part of cheer is Friday night football games at Kiggins Bowl, where she loves supporting Skyview, watching the school come together, and performing the stunts and dances her team has worked hard to perfect.
Sophie credits Coach Jenn as one of her biggest role models. She admires Coach Jenn's positive leadership, dedication to the school community, and ability to inspire athletes to be kind, supportive leaders both on and off the mat.
Outside of cheer, Sophie has been playing the violin since third grade and has spent the past two years performing with the Skyview Chamber Orchestra. She also owns a painted banner business, combining her creativity and love of art to help others celebrate special moments.
Family is an important part of Sophie's life. She is supported by her parents, Aubre and Daemon, and her brothers, Cannon and Branson. Her family has deep roots in the Vancouver community through youth sports and volunteer service.
After graduation, Sophie plans to attend a four-year university, where she hopes to continue her education while exploring future career opportunities. No matter where life takes her, her leadership, creativity, and school spirit are sure to make a lasting impact.
