Meet Ed and Diane Grant
Ed and Diane Grant first visited Coronado Island 45 years ago with their family and purchased a home here this year. They will always remember the year they purchased their home here, as they also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023. Their son Jeff had a new listing in Coronado with his real estate company Sand & Sea Investments, and Ed and Diane jumped on it before it even hit the market. Jeff then sold their place in Carlsbad within days of their Coronado purchase in May of 2023.
Although the Grants have owned many second homes, they have never felt so "at home" as they do here. Ed and Diane have the kindest neighbors who watch out for their home when they’re not here, as their primary residence is in Paradise Valley, AZ. They love the military presence and how the holidays are embraced and celebrated with parades and festivities.
Diane is a retired RN and has worked in the NICU, orthopedics, rehab, and as a school nurse. She has taught childbirth classes and was the nurse for their church youth group, including mission trips. Diane attended Arizona State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Diane enjoys yoga, walking, reading, baking, cooking, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Ed is semi-retired from Real Estate, a company he and his brother built over the past 45 years. Ed attended the University of Arizona, where he studied Psychology and began playing golf, which has become his passion. Ed joined the San Diego Country Club and plays about three times a week when they are here. About 45 years ago, Ed wrote a book, Subconscious Golf, which has since been revised several times. He used to travel and speak at the PGA Tour, PGA of America, and the National Golf Foundation seminars all over the country.
Ed and Diane’s four children are all adults, married with families of their own. There of their children, Eddie, Jeff and Becky, attended the University of Arizona, and Debbie attended Baylor, in Waco, TX. Ed and Diane now have 14 grandchildren—10 boys and 4 girls. When they are all together, they total 24 and call it a "Blessed Chaos!"
The Grants had two beagles when the kids were growing up, Chelsea and Gracie. However, now they just have "grand-dogs": Beau, a Mini Bernidoodle; Hazel, a German Shorthair; and Dolly, a yellow lab.
Some of Ed and Diane’s favorite things to do around Coronado are riding around in their golf cart; visiting the Del, the plethora of great restaurants (the Henry is their favorite), and Tide Lands Park; watching the ships and boats go by; sipping a cup of coffee; and eating Cold Stone ice cream. They love having family and friends visit to share the magical place of Coronado Island.
“We're so grateful to be a part of the Coronado Island community. We have met the nicest people!”
