Eileen Voyles' love letter to Hershey
Hi there! I’m Eileen Voyles, and I live here in Hershey with my husband, Braxton. We have five grown children who live across Texas, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey: Kathleen, Annie (and her husband Jeremiah), John (and his wife Angelina), Lindsey (and her husband Braxten), and Melissa, who’s currently at the University of North Texas. Our family gatherings are loud, fun, and full of stories—and even though we’re spread out, Hershey is still our heart and home base.
Hershey is Home. We’ve lived in Dauphin County for 15 years now. I’m originally from Eureka, California and we lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 17 years prior to coming to Hershey. We moved to the Hershey area because of Braxton’s work in insurance and government business development. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with the small-town charm, walkable neighborhoods, and warm community vibe here.
I attended Brigham Young University, where I studied geography, English, communications, and marketing. It’s funny how those skills have followed me through every season of life—whether it’s launching a startup, writing a real estate column, or simply connecting with neighbors at the farmer’s market.
I engage in so many LOCAL things in Hershey and I wear quite a few hats! I’m a realtor, columnist, community advocate and the co-founder of Yokl, a new local platform we launched to support small businesses in Hershey and the surrounding area. Yokl includes food tours on Lulu, a local business directory, and (soon!) an app that helps residents discover and support nearby businesses. It’s my love letter to this community—and my way of helping it thrive. The vision for Lulu came about after a visit to Memphis on a mobile food tour and knew that Hershey deserved its own culinary experience.
My commitment to the community goes beyond my businesses: I’m a member of the Hershey Rotary Club and actively volunteer in our church youth programs. Through Yokl, we also organize community food tours, highlight local businesses, and we're working to partner with schools to feature student journalism. There’s always something happening—and we love being part of it.
We believe that small actions have big impacts. Whether it’s showing up to support a local ribbon-cutting, mentoring student entrepreneurs, or hosting a neighborhood dinner, we try to be intentional about making people feel seen and supported. Through Yokl, we’re helping amplify the voices of small business owners and giving our community more ways to connect.
