How did you end up in La Grange?
We previously lived in the Ravenswood neighborhood in Chicago and always knew that one day we would make the move out to the suburbs. We had done some research and visited several suburbs we could see ourselves settling down in, but La Grange stood out amongst the rest! We have friends who have lived here for some time now and they had great things to say about the community! We were so blessed to find our current home, on a wonderful block, in a beautiful town!
How long have you lived here?
We moved to La Grange in Dec. 2020
Best places to visit in town?
We LOVE Milk Money Brewing! We frequent there quite often and that was the first place we brought Emma! It's such a fantastic atmosphere with great food and beers! Jack's West End is an awesome store. Just so happens the owner is one of our neighbors! We love visiting Vintage Charm, and Liz has gone to Silvermoon Salon since moving to La Grange.
What do you love most about La Grange?
This is an amazing town to raise a family in! People are so welcoming, especially on our block. It felt like home right away. Coming from Chicago, you get a taste of the big city here in La Grange, with the restaurants and shops. It's a great transition from Chicago to the suburbs!
Activities and hobbies:
We love to go to the pool with Emma. She absolutely loves the water! We often go on family walks around our neighborhood. Liz is fantastic with interior design and has a keen eye for detail! We love going to the La Grange Farmers Market on Thursdays.
Favorite vacation spot? What's on your travel bucket list?
Our favorite vacation spot is the Amalfi Coast in Italy! It is so beautiful and we loved our time spent there. We also have always wanted to go on a safari! We've been blessed to have the opportunity to see several countries in Europe, but to see the sheer beauty of nature out on safari would be incredible to experience.
What teams do you and your family cheer for?
We are big Michigan State Spartan fans! Pat, being originally from Minnesota, loves the Vikings, Twins, and Wild
Favorite restaurants/meals?
We love Kama Bistro and GP Italiano. GP Italiano had a collaboration with Wolf Point Distillery last year that was absolutely amazing! The food was incredible and we had a blast!
Favorite movies, TV shows, and music?
By far, our favorite TV show is Designated Survivor! We have rewatched the series at least five times now. We also love Veep and The Night Agent. Hijack on Apple TV is an awesome show as well, and we really enjoyed the movie Hidden Figures. For music, we tend to listen to a little bit of everything, but Jimmy Buffett is a mainstay, regardless of the time of year! We were lucky to enough to have seen him perform several times up at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin!
Any favorite family traditions?
We started a new family tradition last year with Emma, we read "The Night Before Christmas" each Christmas Eve before we go to bed.
Aside from necessities, what’s one thing your family could not go a day without?
Cuddles from our dog, Scout! She's such a lover and always has to lean up against us on the couch or in bed.
What three items would your family take with on a deserted island?
I wouldn't say she's an item, but we would absolutely have to take Scout with us! We would need to have ice cream from Andy's, and an MMB Burger from Milk Money!
A genie gives your family 3 wishes. What are they?
1 - Scout lives forever
2 - Emma grows up to be happy and healthy
3 - Unlimited supply of ice cream
