From Volunteer to Visionary: Vicky's Legacy of Community Development

Since 2015, Vicky Taylor has been an integral part of the Lake Highlands and North Lake Highlands Public Improvement Districts (PIDs), dedicating nine years of her life to community development. Her journey began as the Public Safety Manager, and for the past five years, she's proudly served as the Executive Director of the Lake Highlands and North Lake Highlands PIDs. In this role, she wears the hat of a community connector, focusing on beautification, capital improvements and enhancing public safety and community engagement within the Lake Highlands and North Lake Highlands areas.

No two days are alike in her world. One moment, she might be orchestrating a meeting with multifamily property managers, the next minute cutting the ribbon for a newly completed public art project, and then coordinating a safety response with the Dallas Police Department. Her primary mission is to increase community involvement and elevate the quality of life in Lake Highlands. This involves spearheading various beautification projects, such as the Skillman Corridor Master Plan and the upcoming Forest Lane Corridor Master Plan. From transportation art boxes and median improvements to collaborations with entities like TXDOT and Dallas Parks and Recreation, she is actively transforming the community.

Transitioning from a part-time volunteer in the Lake Highlands schools to a full-time champion for Lake Highlands, Vicky now contributes daily as an architect of community improvement. Her professional role involves building relationships and managing events that connect residents and property owners, nurturing the unique hometown feel that Lake Highlands is known for.
The Lake Highlands and North Lake Highlands PIDs are more than non-profits; they are the heartbeat of the Lake Highlands neighborhood, committed to increased safety, capital improvement and community engagement. They actively engage with law enforcement to address public safety concerns and initiate uplifting and impactful community events to create a safe and stable environment for all the residents of Lake Highlands.

Vicky's unwavering dedication has created an abundance of positive change in the community. Her commitment goes beyond her professional responsibility as executive director for the Public Improvement Districts; it's a personal journey of passion for Lake Highlands. Vicky, with boundless energy and a genuine purpose for community well-being, has turned aspirations into actions, transforming challenges into opportunities. Her ability to connect, inspire, and uplift has not only shaped the landscape of Lake Highlands but also touched the lives of those fortunate enough to be part of this journey. Vicky's story is one of selflessness, compassion and the extraordinary impact one individual can have on an entire community.
