Building Bonds and Inspiring Minds
How long have you been in education? This year will be my third year teaching! I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2022. I student taught with Carly Worsham at Moss Haven my senior year. I now teach alongside Carly in 2nd grade at MHE. It has been such a gift getting to continue learning and working alongside her and the MHE community.
What is your favorite part about teaching? The relationships! I love the opportunity to be a mentor that champions my students. I have also enjoyed the relationships I have built with the students' families. The parents at MHE have been so kind to me with their continuous support and encouragement.
What is your teaching style? Someone the other day referred to my teaching style as "Like Mary Poppins, but firm". I love creating a peaceful and warm classroom environment where my students feel cared for and known. I am very passionate about helping kids navigate big feelings. I also love helping students discover that learning is FUN and a lifelong journey!
Where might we find you outside the classroom? I love to watercolor paint, bake, play tennis, and read books. Once I am home I prioritize pursuing my hobbies and spending time with my husband Brooks, my goldendoodle Lucy, and family and friends. I currently live in Richardson. Some of my husband and I's favorite spots are La Casita Bakery, Communion Coffee, and Sueño.
