Oktoberfest 2023

With summer coming to an end, it’s nearing time to dust off the lederhosen, hoist a stein and practice your chicken dance.

No, not in Munich or even in New Braunfels. The bratwursts are on the grill and the kegs are tapped right here in Dallas and, more specifically, in Lake Highlands.

What began as a humble gathering at the fledgling Lake Highlands Town Center in 2011 has grown into one of Dallas’ premiere annual events – attracting nearly 10,000 attendees and top musical talent to Flag Pole Hill for Oktoberfest Dallas.

Originally known as Lake Highlands Oktoberfest, the family-centric event in its 12th year is a production of the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands. All proceeds from ticket, merchandise, and food and beverage sales are returned to the Lake Highlands community in the form of community grants and scholarships for Lake Highlands High School graduates.

For 2023 Oktoberfest Dallas is set for Saturday, September 30 at Flag Pole Hill. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the event wraps up around 10 p.m.

Headlining this year’s entertainment is Cody Canada & The Departed. Fans of red dirt music likely recall Canada as the former frontman of Cross Canadian Ragweed. Patrons will also be treated to performances from Lake Highlands students and opening musical groups.

“Each year, Oktoberfest is one of the most rewarding days of the year for the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands as we’re able to raise thousands of dollars for our community and have a lot of fun along the way,” Oktoberfest Dallas chairman Jimmy Conway said, “We hope you’ll join us again this year.”
