Meet kitties Papageno and Hypatia
teaching us about love, life, and beauty!
Tell us about how these two became a part of your family: We got Hypatia in 2018 and Papageno a year later. Hypatia's original name was Patches which became her middle name after we adopted her. She lived in a mansion with her foster parents but didn’t seem to care about the change in abode! I received Papageno when he was eight weeks old. He never got the memo that kitties should be shy!
How did you come up with their names? My cats names have always been selected before I met them. But is has always worked. Hypatia was the first female mathematician recorded in history and is believed that she was the director of the Library of Alexandia. Papageno is the bird catcher and Tamino’s sidekick in Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute.
What's something special or unusual about Papageno? Papageno can open all the doors in the house. Yes, he taught himself how to operate the handles. So any banned room should be locked. His favorite door to open? The pantry, of course!
What do you like best about your cats? Their generous way to make us more human, to allow us to give love and venerate life and beauty.
What are their favorite toys? Amazon boxes and plastic springs!
