Jennifer Wilcox: Your Trusted Neighbor and State Farm Agent for 20 Years

Discover how Jennifer Wilcox's passion for people and commitment to her community define her insurance agency's legacy.

“My life is like those State Farm commercials where all-of-a-sudden an agent pops into a situation! You never know where you might find me, standing in front of a house fire ready to help, on the side of the road jump starting a customer's car, volunteering at a Lake Highlands school, or supporting a local sports team. It’s because I care about people," says Jennifer Wilcox. Celebrating 20 years in business, Jennifer Wilcox’s State Farm Insurance Agency offers personal and business policies including auto, homeowners/renters, umbrella, jewelry coverage as well as life insurance. After she graduated from Louisiana State University there was an inevitability about Jennifer’s career: “My entire family is in the insurance field, and it was natural for me to become an agent. I love working with people, puzzles, and numbers so this is the right business for me.”

Jennifer was ecstatic to be offered her own agency in 2003. "Lake Highlands is the perfect place for my family - we love this community and feel very fortunate to have been chosen for here,” she explains, "my husband, Reed, is an independent insurance agent for TWFG Insurance Services. We consider ourselves friendly competitors!” The couple shares three children: Hayes a sophomore at LHHS and member of the Highlandettes drill team, Eloise who plays basketball and soccer at LHJH and Cliff who enjoys every sport possible in the 6th grade at LHE. Jennifer served as the LHE PTA President, and is currently the LHHS PTA Teacher Appreciation Chair and recently joined the Lake Highlands Women's League.

Stressing the longevity and integrity of her team, Jennifer notes: “Suzanne Berger has worked with me for 20 years and Christina Hargrove for 10. Rhonda Pedroza has been with us for one year, and the newest team member D‘Lynn Irby is a long-time local resident. With our combined 50+ years’ expertise we take pride in helping customers personalize their coverage to meet their needs and budgets." Jennifer's agency has one of the lowest cancellation rates in the city, and even when customers seek coverage elsewhere, they very often return. "Past, future, and current customers are always be welcome here! We strive to be a knowledgeable and professional insurance resource for all."

While the majority of customers come from referrals, Jennifer takes a multi-prong approach to marketing, "Social media is a huge referral source for us. Also, I believing in supporting local schools, organizations, and sports teams" she explains, "so my name and company logo are all over Lake Highlands, and that is how people find us."

Aside from running her agency, she also enjoys running half marathons with Team Challenge to help her families medical mission of curing Crohn's disease. “My nephews, Gavin and Brody, and my dad Paul have Crohn's, so for the past 10 years I have participated in half-marathons to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation," Jennifer concludes, "and my next race is in May 2024 which willbring my total fundraising to over $100,000! We are GPSs Army - Fighting Crohn's!"
