Hilary's educational journey began as an aide at Hexter Elementary. Her dedication to teaching led her to Lake Highlands, where she earned her teaching certificate. She started in the LHE Science Lab, sparking imaginations with hands-on experiments. When circumstances changed, she embraced teaching 6th-grade Science and Social Studies. About 1.5 years ago, she took on the challenge of teaching 4th graders.

In the classroom, Hilary's style blends respect, fun, and engagement. Her students see her as a companion in learning, akin to Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus. She fosters an environment where discussions flourish, empowering her students to take ownership of their journey.

Hilary's adoration for teaching stems from her students' diversity and the captivating conversations they share. She's a firm believer in their intelligence, empowering them to be leaders in the school, affectionately known as "the Puckett People."

Inspired by her first-grade teacher, Mrs. Barker, who instilled discipline and belief in every student, Hilary is similarly committed to holding her students accountable for their actions and responsibilities.

Beyond the classroom, Hilary wears many hats. She cares for her sister, tends to flourishing gardens in her leisure, and immerses herself in mystery novels via Audible.com. Her life outside education is completed by her husband, Pete, and two canine companions.
