Fourty Years Later: A Musical Journey Through Oahu
In a nostalgic return to the beautiful islands of Hawaii, Carol and I recreated our honeymoon trip to Waikiki, this time with 233 friends in tow. Celebrating our 40th anniversary a couple of months later, we embarked on a memorable journey across Oahu from June 26 to July 2.
Our entourage included 32 orchestra members and 150 choir members, creating a harmonious experience in the 50th state. We explored iconic sites such as Diamond Head, Dole Plantation, Pali Coast, Hanauma Bay, Polynesian Cultural Center, Pearl Harbor, and Turtle Beach. Amidst the breathtaking scenery, we also had the opportunity to showcase our musical talents.
Performances resonated at various venues, including Ala Moana Mall, Pearl Harbor - Missouri Battleship, Joint Base Pearl Harbor - Hickham, The Waikiki Shell, and New Hope Church. The fusion of music and scenic beauty created lasting memories for all.
As the trip unfolded, we realized that waiting another forty years to return might be too long. The allure of Hawaii has left us yearning for another visit, eager to bask in the island's beauty and share our music once again."
