Living & Loving Local: The Kocsis Family's Lake Highlands Journey
Step into the world of Jenci and Tiffani and their three kids as they share the joys of living and loving local in Lake Highlands.
February is the month of love, and we are so thankful to get to share local stories each month to support the local love of Lake Highlands! This month we introduce the vibrant Kocsis family – a delightful bunch with a shared love for the neighborhood they call home. Meet Jenci and Tiffani, the dynamic duo, both avid supporters of Lake Highlands neighbors and businesses.
Jenci and Tiffani have lived in the Lake Highlands community since 2020, Jenci is an IT Project Manager and Tiffani is the proud owner of the newly opened East Dallas Middle Ground coffee shop, they exude the true spirit of community living. With three vibrant kids Kellen (12), Paige (11), Piper (5), along with their furry family members of Miley the rescue dog, two rescued cats, Houdini and Luna, plus a squad of nine soccer-inspired chickens, this family brings a unique blend of traditions and enthusiasm to their East Dallas abode.
Having roots in East Dallas and Southern California, Jenci and Tiffany returned to Lake Highlands in 2020, embracing the diverse and welcoming neighborhood. Their traditions, from celebrating name days and St. Nicholas Day to summer trips to California, reflect a rich tapestry of heritage and family bonds. As avid movie watchers and occasional bakers, the family's living room transforms into a dance floor for impromptu family fun.
Engaged in activities ranging from tumbling to theater, the kids bring vitality to the household. While Paige is into competitive cheer and theater, Piper explores the world of tumbling at White Rock Tumble & Cheer and Kellen enjoys online gaming and tennis. The Koncsis Family is deeply involved in community service, contributing significantly to their children's schools, Dallas Academy and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Their love for the neighborhood stems from its diversity, encompassing everything from quirky houses to expansive gardens. The Koncsis Family encourages newcomers to explore the local gems, from holidays at the arboretum to savoring bagels from Lubbies. Their favorite local spots include the ever-popular Shady's and the scenic Flag Pole Hill.
As true enthusiasts of breakfast-for-dinner, fans of the US Women's National Soccer Team, and lovers of the animated series Bluey, the Koncsis Family exemplifies the joy of simple pleasures and community connections. Their favorite family vacation destination is the tropical haven of Kona, Hawaii, and they often enjoy day trips to the vibrant Bishop Arts district.
In the spirit of giving back, the Koncsis Family supports local charities, with Genesis Women's Shelter and JDRF NTx holding special places in their hearts. Their journey encapsulates the essence of Love Local, embodying the warmth and vibrancy that defines life in Lake Highlands.
