East Dallas Middle Ground: A Community-Driven Coffeehouse Supporting Local Vendors and Neighbors

Located just down North Buckner Boulevard in White Rock Shopping Center, East Dallas Middle Ground is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a neighborhood hub where the spirit of community thrives. Founded by Tiffani Kocsis, a former educator turned entrepreneur, this welcoming space offers a refuge for anyone seeking good coffee, local eats, and a sense of belonging. After 20 years in education, Tiffani made a bold leap to pursue her dream of opening a coffee shop. Burned out from the classroom, she channeled her love for coffeehouses, spaces that had long been a retreat throughout her life, into creating a place that mirrors the neighborhood’s warmth and character.

What sets East Dallas Middle Ground apart is its deep commitment to supporting local vendors and giving back to the community. From delicious pastries provided by Haute Sweets and Lubbies Bagels to artisan bakes from La Casita Bakeshop and Milk & Patience, the shop’s menu features only locally sourced goods. “We prioritize local in everything we do,” says Tiffani. Whether it’s hosting school fundraisers, donating services to community auctions, or organizing events like "Local Sundays," where small businesses pop up in the space, East Dallas Middle Ground is always finding ways to uplift its neighbors.

Designed to be a place for everyone, the coffeehouse boasts two private workrooms for quiet productivity, a children’s room for families, and a menu that caters to coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. “We’re not coffee snobs,” Tiffani jokes. “Whether you want a cortado or an iced caramel mocha, we’re going to make sure it’s exactly what you need.” This inclusive approach has earned the shop glowing reviews and a growing base of regulars who stop by not just for the coffee but for the sense of community.

Tiffani’s journey has been transformative, both personally and professionally. “Starting this business was a leap of faith, and it hasn’t always been easy,” she admits. “But what I’ve gained is a deeper connection to my neighbors and the realization that I can’t do it alone. Our community is what keeps us going.”

As East Dallas Middle Ground continues to grow, its focus remains steadfast—supporting the local community and becoming a neighborhood staple where everyone feels welcome. In that spirit, they are excited to host their first-ever Holiday Market on December 15th, featuring local vendors and artisans. It’s another way for the coffeehouse to give back and bring neighbors together, just in time for the holiday season.

East Dallas Middle Ground is more than a coffee shop; it’s a gathering place where neighbors connect, local businesses thrive, and community support is always brewing.
