Meet Sterling: The Well-Traveled, Easygoing Canine Companion
Q: Sterling, how did you come to join your family?
Sterling: I’m a lucky rescue from the Humane Society of Fort Worth! My family was on the lookout for a new furry friend and spotted my adorable face on their website. They instantly knew I was the one for them. They took a day off work just to come meet me and, well, the rest is history—I joined them in my forever home the very next day!
Q: What makes you so special, Sterling?
Sterling: Oh, I’ve had quite the adventure! I’ve been to three countries—how cool is that? We lived in England for a while, and I loved exploring the beautiful English countryside with my family. One of my favorite memories is taking a train trip to Scotland. Edinburgh was amazing, and I had the best time soaking in the sights!
Q: What do your family members like best about you?
Sterling: My family adores how low-key and independent I am. I’m known for being stoic and easygoing—basically, I’m the perfect pet. My calm demeanor has made me a beloved member of the household!
Q: Can you share a fun story about yourself?
Sterling: Absolutely! When I first came home, my family discovered just how much I love car rides. One day, some friends came by to pick them up, and the front door was open for a bit too long. I seized the opportunity and dashed outside, straight to an open car door! I hopped into the front seat, eager for an adventure. My family was a bit panicked at first, but they quickly realized I just wanted a ride. They ended up taking me for a short drive with their friends before bringing me back inside. They were tickled by my enthusiasm!
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Sterling: I’m also a fantastic older sister to my baby brother Landon, who joined the family two years ago. Even though I was ten at the time and had been the only child for over eight years, I took the transition in stride. Everyone was a bit anxious about adding a baby, but I’ve been nothing but gentle and patient. It turns out I’m a natural at being the sweet, protective big sister!
