Sunday Funday Is Always More Fun During Football Season
The key to successful entertaining is preparing in advance so you can enjoy your own party, and your guests will appreciate being entertained in effortless, easy style. Every great host knows you set the mood for your guests with décor that matches your theme, great entertainment, and plenty of food and drinks.
Another very important rule of entertaining is seating, especially on game day. You want your guests to be able to relax. An outdoor TV or screen is always a great touch. Make sure to set out a few tables and chairs, so your friends and family have a place to eat and socialize, which brings me to Game Day food and drinks!
Have fun with this one and be creative... Maybe a gourmet hot dog bar or Build-Your-Own burger bar? If you have a grill master at home, this is a fun idea that keeps your guests engaged, just don’t forget to add a meatless option as well depending on your guest list. Pizza is always a good call for the kids, and if you’re up for it and have the space, it’s engaging to have the kiddos build their own mini pizzas.
Appetizers like queso in a crockpot and chips and salsa are easy to have prepared when guests arrive. Mini corn dogs are always a great starter during State Fair season with assorted dipping sauces. Use paper plates with a football theme so cleanup is so much easier.
Set up your bar the day before so it’s checked off your list. ’ve found it takes the pressure off to hire a bartender to come and serve guests, do drink refreshers, as well as pick up all those Red Solo Cups that get left all over your home. Don’t forget the kiddos and make them a well-stocked drink station with waters, sodas, and juices. I always buy the mini cans during a party since many times only half of a full-size soda gets finished.
I like to have a fun activity planned that keeps people engaged and watching the game, such as Squares. It’s always a great idea to set up a table with games for the kids, and it never hurts to have a fun game of corn hole during halftime. I’ve got great inspiration on my Amazon board, scan the QR code below. It also includes fabulous fashion inspiration whether you are staying home or headed to the stadium for kickoff. Happy football season!
