Brothers in the Spotlight: Christian & Charlie Bring the Heat to STA Football

If you’ve spent any time around St. Thomas Aquinas sports fields this fall, you’ve probably heard the names Christian and Charlie—two brothers whose passion for football is matched only by their love for competition, teamwork, and all things outdoors.

Christian, age 12, and Charlie, age 11, attend STA and play just about every sport they can get their hands on: football, basketball, track, and a little golf. When they’re not on a court or a field, you might find them mountain biking, swimming, rock climbing, or snowboarding. But this fall, all roads lead to one place—the STA football field.

Christian, the Varsity team’s quarterback, and Charlie, a receiver for the JV team, first stepped into football pads back in 2nd grade. Years later, the sport has become part of their daily rhythm. They’ve played through YMCA leagues, SVAA, and now proudly represent STA.

A huge force behind their dedication? Their dad. He’s their biggest supporter, cheerleader, and coach-at-home, spending countless hours practicing with them, arranging football camps, and connecting them with 1:1 coaches to help sharpen their skills. The boys also stay motivated by watching their favorite NFL docuseries—Quarterback and Receiver—and cheering for their top college team, the OU Sooners.

And they’ve even had some big-time connections of their own. Christian’s current quarterback coach is Jeremy Hodge, the starting QB for New Mexico State—an inspiration that makes training all the more exciting.

Travel has been part of the journey, too. The brothers have played in three flag football tournaments at Cowboys Stadium, which stand out as their favorite sports experiences to date.

One moment, though, stands above the rest: with just 13 seconds left on the clock last fall, Christian launched a 40-yard touchdown pass to Charlie to win the game against Prince of Peace. It was the perfect brother-to-brother connection—equal parts skill, trust, and excitement—and a snapshot of what makes these two such a dynamic duo on the field.

As the boys continue to chase big plays and bigger goals, what shines brightest is the foundation they’re building: hard work, resilience, and a whole lot of heart. Whether they’re scoring touchdowns at STA, exploring mountain trails, or gearing up for the next season, Christian and Charlie bring an energy that reminds us why youth sports matter. Their story is one of family, perseverance, and doing what you love—side by side with the people who inspire you most.
