Savoring Excellence: A Taste of Italy at MoMo Italian Kitchen
Experience the Art of Fine Dining Where Tradition Meets Modern Flair – An Unforgettable Culinary Journey Awaits in East Dallas
MoMo Italian Kitchen Lake Highlands is an absolute must, and one of the truly best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced. Wende Stevenson and Aaron Gross have a passion for food, and it shows from the moment you walk into their beloved restaurant. Brilliant cuisine, superior service, and beautiful ambiance is the winning mixture for this stellar establishment. Super authentic, with locally sourced ingredients, their pure passion for creating cuisine that is simply delicious is evident from the moment you walk into MoMo Italian Kitchen. It is based completely in heritage and history, with a new, modern twist, and while a bit off the beaten path, it is worth the drive or Uber ride.
Wende and Aaron are fully engaged in their craft and are committed to honoring Lakewood and Lake Highlands. In fact, instead of children’s books at nighttime, Wende’s grandmother read her cookbooks and created a passion for food, which is evident, and they live and grew up right in the heart of Lakewood.
With an honor for the past and history, as well as a nod to the future, this dynamic duo is carrying on a Dallas tradition to make the best Italian food you might possibly have this side of the Atlantic. I dare not forget to mention the craft cocktails and superbly chosen wines that perfectly accompany the cuisine as well.
I had a great date night with my partner, Lane and from start to finish, the cocktails, food, and service were top notch. We started off with a couple of hand-crafted cocktails, the Modena Cup and the Texas Daisy, coupled with House made Focaccia paired alongside homemade dipping sauces.
We followed this up with Lamb Meatballs and MoMo Mussels- which are an absolute delight and a must. The Mandilli de Seta “Silk Handkerchiefs,” which is in-house made pasta squares with a Basil, Pine Nut pesto, and a touch of Cream, came next and for our entrée, we split the Pork Milanese topped with Jubilant Farms arugula salad and parmigiano reggiano.
For dessert, we finished this amazing experience with Tiramasu and Panna Cotta, done MoMo Italian Kitchen style.
The proprietors fresh and fierce commitment to creating the best Italian is so evident and if you are craving a perfectly crafted cocktail, along with some of the best food you have had in a very long time, then MoMo is your spot to enjoy.
PS – Don’t forget to ask to see the original cookbook by Fernanda Gosetti, one of the most famed Italian chefs. Wende and Aaron will be happy to show you and share the story, and it is worth the listen. Buon Appetito!!
