For nearly five decades, the LECPTA Lakewood Home Tour has been a beloved East Dallas tradition, bringing the community together to celebrate the character, history, and heart of Lakewood. As we celebrated its 49th year, the annual Lakewood Home Tour weekend once again showcased treasured homes throughout the neighborhood while raising critical funds for local feeder schools in DISD, including Lakewood Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

This year’s tour featured an exceptional lineup of homes, including the Featured Home at 6635 Lakewood Boulevard. Built in 1925, the historic Dines & Kraft residence marked its 100th anniversary, offering guests a chance to celebrate its storied heritage. Additional homes on the tour included properties on Lakewood Boulevard, Bob O Link Drive, Dominique Drive, La Vista Drive, Delrose Drive, and Merrilee Lane, with one candlelight-only home adding to the weekend’s charm.

The weekend also included the LECPTA Auction Party, themed Deep in the Heart of Lakewood. This Texas-style celebration served as the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, supporting East Dallas schools through ticket sales, auctions, and sign-up parties. Together, the Home Tour and Auction Party continue to ensure lasting support for Lakewood’s schools and students, strengthening the community for generations to come.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the many LECPTA volunteers who made the weekend possible, and especially to the Home Tour and Auction leaders: Lauren Harrison, Whitney Huffman, Dorothy DiOrio, Juliana Ziv, VP Shelby Doldson, Lauren Melder, Dejah Fortenberry, Maddie Giamello, Ali Schultz, and Megan Winder. Their dedication and leadership continue to make this cherished Lakewood tradition possible.
