Curved lines: Silhouettes designed with major curves and arches in everything from furniture to lamps to cabinetry will continue. The 2023 Fall High Point Furniture market was full of curved pieces and accessories so expect to see many more coming to showrooms and catalogs soon.

Medium to Dark brown woods: The lighter bleached and white-washed wood tones are being replaced with richer more heavily stained woods on furniture and kitchen and bath cabinetry. Think walnuts but warmer with some honey undertones.  

Minimal cabinet hardware: seeing a much more minimal and restrained approach to cabinet hardware. Whether integrated into cabinet doors and drawers; cut-outs and notches; or cabinet hardware made in wood, cabinetry design is becoming a little sleeker. 

Fall tones: Move over Green (in all forms), and make way for warmer, deeper colors on cabinets and walls in what I like to call the Fall colors: Maroons, mustards, aubergines, and chocolates. 

Wallpaper in kitchens: Wallpaper mania is now finding its way to the kitchen in increasing fashion. Wallpaper is great for anyone who wants more texture, color or layering in their kitchen without having to re-do a major component like countertops or kitchen cabinets.  If you have white cabinets but want impact, here you go! 

Chrome and nickel as metal finishes: Silver finishes are the perfect counterpart to the warmer, cozier rooms and richer Fall tones I mentioned above. Expect to see less brass and black metals in 2024 and a return to chrome and nickel finishes for both kitchen and bath design and décor.
