The Fielder family is a dynamic and bubbly crew who has called Lakewood home for a collective 13.5 years. After a brief stint in Highland Park, Kathy Fielder and her two kids, Isabella (20) and Harrison (12), along with their beloved pets—Pearl the English cream golden retriever, Smitten, a tabby rescue, and Sage, another tabby rescue—are thrilled to be back in what they consider the best neighborhood in East Dallas.
Kathy, the CEO of THRIVE, wears many hats and has an entrepreneurial spirit that’s hard to match. She’s not just a business leader; she’s also a social media influencer, an Amazon influencer, and a former QVC on-air personality with her licensed line, Fielder Home. Kathy’s journey is inspiring, having owned the pioneering store on Lowest Greenville and managed the longest-running bedding collection at Neiman Marcus/Horchow. She now uses her expertise to support local charities, including Orphan Outreach, where she serves on the OO Style Council.
Isabella, an internationally ranked equestrian, competes in the demanding discipline of dressage. She’s traveled the world with her chestnut gelding, Nirvana-H, and is set to compete at the North American Youth Championships in Traverse City, Michigan. Last year, Isabella and Nirvana-H achieved top national rankings at the United States Nationals in Lexington, Kentucky.
Harrison, a straight-A student at St. John’s Episcopal School, shares his sister’s passion for excellence. While basketball and bass fishing are his go-to activities, he’s eager to try deep-sea fishing on the family’s annual trip to the Florida Keys.
For the Fielder family, Lakewood is the perfect blend of community and tranquility. They cherish their quiet pocket with easy access to White Rock Lake, where Pearl enjoys greeting everyone, both human and canine. Kathy describes Lakewood as the “gem of East Dallas,” a place where neighbors support one another, and the sense of community is strong.
When they’re not busy with their various activities, you’ll likely find the Fielder family dining at their favorite local spots like SaSa Sushi or Hudson House, or hanging out at the pool at Lakewood Country Club. They also love the neighborhood’s holiday traditions, especially the Lakewood Tree Lighting.
For those new to Lakewood, Kathy offers this advice: “Enjoy this special community. It’s the best place to raise kids in Dallas and live ‘under the radar.’” The Fielder family is living proof that Lakewood is more than just a neighborhood—it’s a place where life thrives.
