Cleaning with Care, Building with Trust
For nearly four decades, Holly Eckstrand has built her family-owned carpet cleaning business on a simple philosophy: work hard, treat people honestly, and care about the people you serve. What started as a summer job has grown into a trusted local company spanning generations, with clients who have remained loyal for 20 and even 30 years.
A graduate of Washington State University, Holly first entered the carpet cleaning world as a summer job. She worked for a company she describes as “sketchy,” but the experience gave her an unexpected realization: the business itself had potential if it was done the right way.
“I learned what not to do,” Holly says. “I thought, ‘I can do this honestly. I can work hard, treat people right, and make people happy.’”
Over the years, Holly employed teams of cleaners, but eventually began taking on jobs herself. She quickly discovered she loved the work, not only because it kept her active, but because it allowed her to connect with people throughout the community.
“I make friends with so many of my clients,” she says.
That personal connection has become one of the company’s defining traits. Many customers have remained with the business for decades, returning because they trust the straightforward approach and honest service Holly has always prioritized.
The company operates without commission-based sales or hidden pricing. Holly believes in providing honest quotes without pressure or intimidation. Pricing is charged by square foot with all-inclusive rates.
Their cleaning process also sets them apart. The business uses a dry carpet cleaning method that Holly says was rated number one by a leading consumer magazine and is the only method recommended by Martha Stewart. The method is non-toxic, Green Seal certified, EPA approved, and designed to kill dust mites and their allergens without the use of harsh chemicals. In addition to carpets, the company cleans upholstery, boats, area rugs, and mattresses.
Today, the business truly remains a family operation. Holly’s son, Lehmann, has worked in carpet cleaning for 15 years and is preparing to take over the company. Her daughter, Morgan, also works part-time in the business. Both children graduated from Newport High School and grew up in Newport Hills, where the family still lives.
That same commitment to caring for others extends well beyond the business itself. Through relationships built while cleaning carpets, Holly became connected with members of the Seattle Seahawks community and has helped support charitable causes tied to the organization. She serves on the board for Seahawk legend KJ Wright and the Wright Way Foundation and assists with procurement for fundraisers focused on helping children and families. The foundation supports financial literacy efforts at Garfield High School, including a program where students learn real-world money management.
Outside of work, Holly has dedicated the past 13 years to dog rescue. Through Forever Home Dog Rescue and Saving Great Animals, she has helped foster and fundraise for rescue dogs, many of which come from high-kill shelters in California. Dogs are transported north weekly in hopes of finding permanent homes rather than facing euthanasia. “We’re saving great animals,” she says. Holly has personally fostered around 100 dogs over the years, including several French bulldogs and Boston terriers.
Looking back on 38 years in business, Holly believes the company’s success comes down to one thing above all else: caring about people.
“At the core of her business is a genuine commitment to others,” she says. “A community of caring makes all the difference.”
