From 'Lot Boy' to Owner, Mike Carson's Passionate Journey in Auto Sales!

Starting as a young man on his family dealership’s used car lot, Mike grew up in the car business and has never had what he calls “a normal job”. As a salesman, he was always #1 in the dealership, selling 25+ units a month to multiple satisfied customers. A second-generation "car guy", Mike learned his trade from his father, Phil Carson. Mike went to college while continuing to work part-time in the dealership and was inevitably drawn back into the family business on graduation. His enthusiasm for what he does is palpable. “I love what we do at Carson Cars,” he says, “and it's a fun job because I get to work with my three favorite things: people, cars, and the money we earn!” 
 
Carson Cars has been serving customers in the Pacific Northwest since 1968, with typically over 200+ vehicles in inventory, selling 100+ units every month from trucks to SUVs, to minivans. The dealership is distinctive among the independent used car dealers, as it has its own Service Department, operating six days a week.  
 
Mike prides himself on the 11-point safety inspection undertaken in the Service Department, with most vehicles qualifying for a two-year/24,000-mile warranty. “Over 1/3 of our business is repeat or referral because we do things right. We were honored to be voted ‘Quality Dealer of the Year’ by the Washington Dealers Association,” he says proudly.
 
Mike stresses the dealership’s focus on customers and its ability to meet their financing needs, particularly specializing in financing 'credit-challenged' customers.
