Sweet Success: How Girl Scout Eloise Conquered the Country, One Cookie at a Time!

“Hi! I’m Girl Scout Eloise! Can you believe it? I got all 50 states!"

Eloise is seven years old and has grown up in Mill Creek watching her big sister participate in Girl Scouts. As soon as she was old enough, she was excited to jump in and join herself. She loved the fun experiences she got to have with her troop, making funny memories with her friends, and doing cookie sales. “One of my favorite things about cookie season is getting to try all of the cookies,” she says. “My favorite one is Thin Mints.”

Eloise decided on an impressive goal for her first full year of cookie sales as a Daisy: to sell at least one box of cookies in each of the 50 states. Tara, Eloise’s mother, had a friend whose daughter had completed this goal, and Eloise loved the idea. “I thought I could sell a lot of cookies from doing that,” she shared. Once cookie season began in February, she was ready.

Eloise made an initial goal of selling 355 boxes of cookies. She tracked her progress towards her 50 states goal by coloring in each state she gained on a map. With her mom’s help, she took to Facebook to create her iconic “Girl Scout Eloise” videos, engaging with a wide audience while sharing her progress along the way. “I did songs, and I even made up some of my own. I dressed up in costumes. I also did skits and stories about Girl Scout Cookies with my stuffed animals,” she says. Her favorite activities in her videos include her own personal costume creations like a rainbow tiger or their family dogs participating in the production wearing Girl Scout vests.

By the end of February, Eloise had filled in all but about 15 states, surpassed her 355-box goal, and even sold cookies in El Salvador! She kept making videos and encouraging her growing audience to share, and more and more states got filled in. “My favorite state to sell in was New York,” she shared. Although she hasn’t been there – yet! – she loves the Statue of Liberty and hopes to see it someday. Of the states she has been to, Florida has been her favorite, largely due to Disney World.

As she got closer to completing her goal, her most difficult state to get proved to be Vermont. “It was the last state I got, and the hardest one, but once I had it, we ended up getting two orders from there on the same day!” she said. “We got up and jumped around when I got the last state. I got so excited and celebrated and sang my jumping song!”

In total, Eloise sold 755 boxes of cookies, earning a special badge, a stuffed animal of this year’s cookie mascot and a fun Lego experience. “I had a lot of fun, and I think I will do it again,” she says, looking forward to her first year as a Brownie. “Maybe I can sell 1000 cookies!”

Congratulations to Eloise on achieving such an incredible goal!
