Welcome to Greet Moraga’s inaugural issue!
Moraga is a highly desirable place to live and the town has a bright future. I welcome Greet Moraga as a valuable addition to our community.
As mayor in 2025, I thoroughly enjoyed presenting the State of Moraga to a range of local organizations. Thanks to the town’s staff and volunteer organizations, I had a really good story to tell, and received valuable feedback. Moraga’s mission critical functions of Policing, Planning, Public Works and Parks and Recreation continue to excel in a balanced budget environment.
Planning and actions are underway to move Moraga into the future. Construction of a new supermarket has begun at the Rheem Center and planning is progressing for all-affordable senior apartments, additional restaurants and potentially new single-family and mixed retail/ housing development. These examples represent progress in executing the rezoned shopping areas both for renewal and to meet State housing requirements.
2025 was a year of strengthening the “Town-Gown” relationship between Moraga and Saint Mary’s College, consistent with Moraga being a “college town”. New exciting college programs and enhancements are being planned and implemented. We residents have opportunities to enjoy the many sporting and cultural events offered by the college which is right in our backyard.
I enjoyed my year as Moraga’s Mayor and wish success to our new Mayor, Kerry Hillis!
