Moraga Central Perks

The Frecerro family have provided a tremendous gift to our town for 3 decades and generations. They have been fostering a space that is multi-functional and multi-faceted for the residents to enjoy every day.

Artista, Barista~

It all began in 1920, when the building that is today known as Sisi's Cafe & C.C. & Co Hair Designs was built, awaiting it's perfect occupants and purpose. Cathy Corsi and family moved from Italy to CA in 1954, when she was a young girl. She was active as a dancer by 14, started weekend cosmetology school at 15, met her late husband Aldo at 16, and was married at 19.  She started her own salon business and hired a team.
They bought the current building in 1998 and a good friend helped divide the space, which eventually became salon/coffee shop. Her two daughters began working as baristas when they were young adults, and continue to work at the family business today in varying capacities. They have both since had their own children (3 total grandkids) and the cycle continues with the 3rd generation working at the coffee house, managing the family business.
One way that Cathy intentionally keeps the family together is by hosting dinner at her house every Monday and Tuesday evening. They gather for a traditional and delicious Italian supper, and remain a very tight knit family.
Cathy's talents and contributions don't end at owning a business, doing hair and being a wonderful matriarch.  She also started painting 25 years ago with her best friend Joann.  They get inspired on Tahoe trips, which is where the family recreates away from the shop.  Cathy's many paintings can be seen (some for sale) on the walls of Sisi's.
If these walls could talk, they would tell tales of many years, inclusive of ALL Ages, wonderful friendships and lots of laughter.  Cathi agrees that when she retires one day, her family will take it all over and evolve the building and business perhaps differently, into the future chapters.  Until then, this community building establishment, remains a staple of Moraga.  Where good vibes abound and "everyone knows your name"
Thank you Frecerro's!
