More Than A Market
One of the most engaging features of the Morning Market is its Artists in Residence booth, a dedicated space that celebrates and showcases the talents of local and regional artists. Curated by the market team, the booth features a rotating lineup of artists of all experience levels, offering live demonstrations and original works for sale.
Previously featured artists include Matt, a local high school teacher, displayed his skill in intricate pinstriping; Riley, a talented ceramicist, shaping over 20 clay pots on her pottery wheel; and Phil, whose striking portraits are layered with thought-provoking quotes. Lindsey, known for her large-scale murals and a vibrantly painted public piano, also displayed smaller works perfect for home collections.
At 85 years old, Carol brings decades of experience to the market with her paintings and drawings—and she continues to teach weekly art classes. Doug, a retired newcomer to painting, proves it's never too late to discover a passion for art.
Located right next to the Market booth, the Artists in Residence space invites you to experience creativity in real time, chat with the artists, and take home a one-of-a-kind piece of local art. The Market is so thankful for the work of Nancy Podolsky in organzing the Artists in Residence.
