East Meets West

I love food. I love serving people just as much. I have an incredible passion around bringing unique culinary experiences that the people in the Valley may never knew they loved.

I’m a lifelong resident of Oakdale, CA. Graduated OHS class of ‘96. Moved for work to CO and returned back to my hometown in 2020. Oakdale has always felt like home to me. The community is absolutely supportive of small local businesses. The best part of the Oakdale is the local beauty, river and access to the foothills.

I departed my corporate career in Telecoms in 2019 and decided to follow a passion of mine in 2020 venturing into the food truck/catering business. Having been raised in a bi-racial family with many visits to Japan I was blessed with many various culinary experiences. I’ve always wanted to share the tastes and flavors that I had grown up with with the community I grew up in. That was the primary concept of East Meats West.

The Mobile Food Service industry is challenging by nature. Our menu has a very specific set of challenges, namely the preparation involved in delivering such a varied selection of dishes. Doing everything in-house instead of opting for frozen or artificial solutions is very time-consuming, which limits our ability to be open as often as we like. We definitely sacrifice quantity to maintain our level of quality.

We believe that we’ve been able to bring an awareness of some fantastic Asian centric dishes to this community. Our handmade Bao sandos are our #1 seller and that took quite sometime to achieve as we were the first to introduce this dish to Oakdale. We are extremely proud that our customers have ventured out of their culinary comfort zones to try the types of dishes we offer.

We have a regular rotation of events, mostly held at the great local breweries in Oakdale and Modesto. The next big step we are looking to make is to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Oakdale. We look forward to expanding our menu and hours of operation.
