Daisey and Corrine - enjoying ranching in Oakdale
From cattle-checking partner to expert gopher hunter, this lovable Corgi brings her unique charm to every corner of the ranch – and the couch

Daisey is an eight-year-old Corgi with a true flair for life. She’s been a part of our family since she chose me during a visit to a friend’s Hereford ranch in Cottonwood. Out of a litter of puppies, she was the only one who came right up to me, and when I put her down, she barked persistently until I picked her back up. Right then, I knew she was meant to be ours. Her name, Daisey, was chosen for its sweet, gentle ring, and she’s certainly lived up to it—though she’s developed quite the reputation as a "Diva." Known for her signature side-eye when things don't go her way, she still manages to find her way back to the center of everyone’s hearts.
Living in Oakdale since July 2022, I’ve come to love the small-town, western vibe of the community. The close-knit atmosphere and amazing neighbors make this place feel like home, and Daisey also loves it here. While she has two other Corgi pals on the ranch, Daisey prefers the comfort of indoors, where she sprawls out on the couch, either lounging on her back or curled up on her side. She loves tagging along in the side-by-side to check cattle with me, always eager to hop in the passenger seat, no matter the time of day.
Daisey is more than just a loyal ranch hand; she’s a natural-born gopher hunter, possibly the best I’ve ever seen! Her favorite toy is a mallard duck that quacks like the real thing. Despite being quite large for her short stature, she carries it everywhere I let her. One of my favorite memories with her is the way she comforted me after my father passed. Though she had been a bit of a nipper as a pup, she changed to support me through that tough time, showing a different, softer side. Since then, she’s truly been our little princess with a heart as big as her personality.
