Meet Haley Dodd

I will always love the Cowboy Capital of the world and so glad I was raised here and continue to do life and work in this small town daily.

My family moved to Oakdale when I was six years old. My dad was born and raised in Oakdale and wanted to return to his hometown and live in the country like he did as a kid. I am going to Modesto Junior College, majoring in child development, and I will get my degree soon. I am a preschool teacher at Creative Christian Learning Center in Oakdale Ca. I absolutely love what I do. The children and staff bring me so much joy. We are implementing new things at the preschool daily and I can't wait for the new school year this year and all the fun things we have to add. Watching my students learn new milestones is so rewarding! I love building a strong bond with my students and families. I have been passionate about working with kids since I was old enough to babysit. Before working at CCLC I was a barista at Dutch Bros in Oakdale where I got to meet so many new faces daily.

Beyond my career, I have a Husky named Buck. He is seven years old, and I rescued him when he was about 1 1/2. He is the most dramatic dog I have ever owned. He loves going on adventures, especially on jeep trips. He absolutely loves the water but hates baths, which is the weirdest thing ever, but he's a drama king, so it makes sense.

My dad and I go on rock-crawling trips in our jeeps pretty often. We started crawling when I was old enough to drive. It has always been our favorite way to get away for the day or weekend. I will always cherish these moments with my dad.

In my downtime, you can catch me at home binge watching a show or taking a nap. When I am not at home you can usually find me at Javis in Oakdale.  I love walking downtown and browsing all the shops, but the main shop you will always find me at is Foxy Designs. They have never failed me on a last-minute outfit for an event. I love going to the rodeo every year. It's one of my favorite events. I also love the new morning market, it's such a fun way to enjoy a nice relaxing Saturday and catching up with friends and seeing everything Oakdale has to offer.  My favorite memory growing is going to Concert in the Park as a kid and watching my dad play in the band.

My favorite part of living in the neighborhood is how close-knit the community is when coming together for events or other needs. I love the sense of a small community because it brings back all the great memories of growing up in a farm town. I will always love the Cowboy Capital of the world and so glad I was raised here and continue to do life and work in this small town daily.
