Bleu's Debut

Bleu joined us in the summer of 2022 as a 10-week-old puppy. My two dogs and I just moved across the country, and I had been wanting a French Bulldog for seven years. While walking my Rottweiler and Boxer, I came upon a gentleman walking four Frenchies. We struck up a conversation and his Frenchies had a great time playing with my dogs. It turned out that the gentleman was a breeder (OakdaleFrenchies.com), and that one of his females was expecting a litter. We exchanged phone numbers so he could alert me when the puppies would be ready.
On the same day I received the diagnosis that my Rottweiler had leukemia, I also received a call from the breeder. He had a puppy looking for a good home. He offered a co-ownership of Bleu. This meant agreeing to take ownership with the understanding that she would birth a litter. Bleu carries the fluffy gene and has a gray color that many desire. Hence the name Bleu after her silver/gray coat, which shines blue in specific lighting.
Bleu is equal parts stubborn, confident, and affectionate. She is an Alpha female in every way. She gets the ZOOMIES at approximately 9 pm every night. She enjoys making a "scarf" out of herself by wrapping her body around your neck. Her superpower is the ability to carry just about any object, no matter its shape or size. She can carry objects as BIG as herself. She has taken over our Rottweiler's 3-4 pound dog bone. It is quite the site to see her prance around like a rhino as the bone jets from her mouth. Forks are another inanimate object she likes to carry around.
Bleu enjoys visiting dog-friendly businesses in town like Dying Breed and Seed2Cup. You'll often find her at the Oakdale Morning Market, where she likes to strut her stuff. Last but not least, she enjoys the attention she receives from Oakdale Family Veterinary.
