41st Fort Bend Optimist Fun Run 5K: Run for a Cause!

The 41st Fort Bend Optimist Fun Run 5K Run & Walk will take place on Saturday, December 7th, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., bringing the community together for fitness, fun, and philanthropy.

This annual event is the primary fundraiser for the Fort Bend Optimist Club’s Youth Scholarship Program and other “Friends of Youth” initiatives that have supported local students and families for more than 40 years.

Proceeds help fund scholarships for FBISD high school students, student appreciation banquets, essay and oratorical contests, and support for local Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops. The event has become a beloved tradition in Sugar Land, with Boy Scout Troop 1631 and their parents helping organize and run the race each year.

As a longtime participant and now President of the Club, Vijaianand shares, “Hosting this Fun Run brings me immense joy. It’s rewarding to see runners and families come together while raising funds for students and families in need.”

The Club warmly invites the Riverstone community, as well as neighbors across Sugar Land and Missouri City, to join this festive morning — whether running, walking, volunteering, donating, or sponsoring. Every contribution helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth.
