Lucy, You’ve Got Some Explaining to Do!

This lovable Maltese steals hearts, shoes, and the spotlight—classic Lucy style

If laughter truly is the best medicine, then Lucy Ricardo is the cure our neighborhood didn’t know it needed. Named after the iconic I Love Lucy, this sweet Maltese brings comedy, charm, and endless love to her family—keeping the spirit of the show alive in their lively, bicultural home.

Lucy is a 5-year-old purebred Maltese with a snowy white coat, four short legs, a waggy tail, and a heart that’s much bigger than her 9-pound frame. Born in February 2020, she proudly holds the title of “Covid puppy,” having been raised with her humans by her side 24/7. Because of this, Lucy believes the family pack should always stay together—and gets adorably sad whenever someone dares to leave the house.

This clever little lady knows about seven words, follows commands, and will happily dance for treats (especially carrots—her absolute favorite). Every night, right on cue during TV time, Lucy stands in the middle of the room making tiny noises to remind everyone that carrot o’clock has arrived.

Lucy joined the family after a road trip to Austin, where she was just a 3-pound fluff ball of sweetness. She made her choice immediately—walking straight up to her now-dad, who scooped her up and said, “What about this one?” The rest, as they say, is history.

She’s also known for her playful mischief. Need attention? Lucy will grab a shoe and take off, clearly inviting a game of chase. Planning a trip? Don’t forget to pack Lucy—because she once hopped straight into an open suitcase, ready for Europe.

Most of all, Lucy is deeply loyal. When someone isn’t feeling well, she won’t leave their side. With one look from her adoring eyes, hearts instantly melt.
Lucy would like to remind all her neighbors to be kind to animals and keep pets safe during extreme weather—because every pet deserves to be loved like family.
