Celebrating Community Resilience: A Gala Evening with Cindy Cheng

This past Spring, the Chinese Community Center (CCC) hosted a memorable Family High Tea & Fashion Show in the enchanting Guyue Courtyard, where residents gathered to celebrate community spirit and the transformative impact of the CCC Youth Program. The event was graced by Cindy Cheng, a beloved Rivetstone resident, influencer, and advocate for youth empowerment.

As guests sipped tea and enjoyed a delightful fashion showcase, the atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie. The CCC Youth Program stands as a beacon of hope, assisting newly arrived immigrant youth in their transition into the community. Through tutoring, enrichment activities, and social engagement, the program nurtures young minds, helping them build strong academic foundations and character.

The evening highlighted the impressive achievements of the CCC, including securing $3 million in social benefits for low-income households and providing essential disaster relief funds. Attendees learned that 87% of graduates from the vocational training programs secured jobs earning over $20 an hour, showcasing the tangible impact of community support.

Cindy Cheng, alongside Event Co-Chairs Pitsami Norm and Tammy Su, emphasized the importance of investing in our youth. The CCC ensures that every child has access to quality education, leadership opportunities, and a safe space to grow. By cultivating confidence and cultural awareness, the program lays the groundwork for a brighter future for our community.

As the event concluded, it became clear that evenings like this not only celebrate achievements but also inspire collective action towards a more inclusive and supportive environment. Together, we can empower the next generation, ensuring they thrive and contribute positively to our rich cultural tapestry.

With gratitude and hope, we look forward to future gatherings that continue to strengthen our community bonds and uplift our youth.
