Hard Rock Casino Tejon: A World-Class Destination … Just Down the Road
Another guitar at the main east entrance … where everyone stops for a selfie
Every month in Road Trippin’, we share an adventure, a discovery of something fun, delicious, or unexpected … all within a relatively short drive of Seven Oaks. This month’s adventure may be the closest one yet – less than 30 minutes away – but what awaits you will feel like a full-blown getaway, without the 4 hours rive to another state. Say hello to the brand-new Hard Rock Casino Tejon, a world-class entertainment destination that has instantly become one of the brightest additions to our region.
By now you’ve likely heard that the Seminole Tribe of Florida – owners of Hard Rock International – partnered with the Tejon Indian Tribe to create this incredible property on Tejon Tribal land in Mettler. But before we talk gaming, dining, and entertainment, it’s worth pausing to appreciate the significance of this moment. The Tejon Tribe, landless for over 150 years, broke ground in January 2024 and saw their dream realized on November 13, 2025, when the casino opened to the public. HRC Tejon isn’t just another entertainment venue – it is a powerful symbol of economic development, cultural pride, and long-awaited self-determination.
The positive ripple effects are already being felt throughout the county: more than 5,000 construction jobs, roughly 1,000 permanent positions at the casino, and even more jobs expected as future phases unfold. Since 2024, Hard Rock Casino Tejon has quickly become one of the region’s most generous community partners, contributing both volunteer time and hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. This is economic development at its best – lifting an entire community while giving the rest of us an exciting new place to explore.
Arriving like a Rockstar
Getting there is easy. From Seven Oaks, take Highway 99 south to the Mettler exit (Exit 4). Yes, you can take Old River Road to I-5 and cut over on 166—but I’d wait until Caltrans wraps up the roadwork near the casino. Either way, in under half an hour you’ll be face-to-face with the iconic six-story Hard Rock guitar, standing like a beacon at the edge of the parking lot.
There are two main entrances:
• The east entrance, complete with a giant guitar (the perfect selfie spot), also offers valet service during select hours.
• The north entrance features a dramatic scale model of what’s coming next – future hotel towers, concert venues, and more.

No matter which door you choose, the moment you step inside all 150,000 square feet, you’ll likely say what I did on my first visit: Wow. Gleaming lights, bold colors, and an impressive collection of memorabilia fill the space—including guitars once played by local legends Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Even if you’re not a gamer, the atmosphere alone is worth the trip.
And you definitely won’t miss your favorite sports game. Massive TVs are everywhere.
Gaming, Hard Rock Style
HRC Tejon is designed for every type of player – from casual visitors to serious gamers. With 2,000+ state-of-the-art slot machines, you’ll find everything from nostalgic favorites to the latest themed releases, plus high-limit slots for those who enjoy a little elevated excitement.
Prefer table games? They’ve got more than 50 tables, including:
• Blackjack
• Craps
• Mini-Baccarat
• Reveal Roulette
• And a growing variety of specialty games
