Turning Balloons into Memories: How Happy Reign Designs Transforms Every Event

One of the generous partners we have used for Seven Oaks events, is Happy Reign Designs, owned by Jacki Alva. She has been big-hearted enough to provide balloons and backdrops for several of our events, enhancing the occasion for all of us there. We have watched as she has transformed her business from not-so-simple balloon arrangements to so very much more, so we checked in with her recently to learn more about her expanded services.
When people think of a balloon decorating business they think of kids’ parties, but you do so much more than that. What else do you do?
We do so much more than kids’ parties, though we love doing those! Think weddings, quinceañeras, church functions, school fun-runs & dances, outdoor events, hospital events, rotary functions, aesthetic & healthcare office functions…the list is truly endless! If you’re having an event, I can decorate it.
What customizations can you offer people? Are there different themes, colors, vibes?
We sure can! Of course, customization for the event depends on the client, what theme they want, colors, and how much space they have, along with what the budget might be. Any theme is possible! And my imagination is endless!
What is your process when you show up to an event? What can people expect on that day?
The process of the event day starts with confirmation many days before, as well as going over colors and making sure that everything that the client needs for the event will be completed. I text the client what time frame I will be arriving to do the setup. I never just walk into somebody's yard! I always make sure that they know that I am there and allowed in. The client will direct me to where they would like the main focal point to be set up and we will go over details of which side the balloons would be on as well as where they would like tables and chairs, plus other decor they may have rented from me: heaters, coolers, toddler bounce houses, cocktail tables, or any extra rental items.
I let the client know that they do not have to sit out while I am arranging everything and that I will text them when I am done or tap on their door. if they are not home, I always send a picture of my final display to make sure it’s to their liking, or if they are home I have them come and see to make sure that it is perfect. If anything needs to be rearranged, I then do that. I do suggest that nothing is moved after I leave for safety and liability purposes!
That sounds wonderful! So, what’s trending these days?
Trends are always changing, but if you want it, I have it, or I have connections with vendors so I can get it! My clients love this about me, so they don’t have to do a lot of looking around and research and hire numerous businesses. Just ask me, and I’ll coordinate it all for the event. No stress on clients makes for a happy event!
Have you ever had any unusual requests?
Yes! I have gone to set up in the middle of the night so that a child can wake up in the morning and be ready to enjoy their decorations. I often work with a church that needs all setup finished by 7 am, so my morning on those days starts at 3 am. Early mornings, late nights…I’m here to help!
